SCHS Board of Trustees & Staff
Our Board of Trustees is made up of a very dedicated group of volunteers who work to make our society the best it can be. Board membership is a three year term and they meet the third Tuesday
of each month.
Our museum is staffed by one full time director and two part-time staff members.
People ask me all of the time "How does the Shelby County Historical Society accomplish all the things it does each year?" The answer to this question is very simple. Shelby County is filled with tremendous people who are willing to join hands and work hard to create wonderful events for our community! There are hundreds of people who work behind the scenes, while some donate an hour or two on each project. The Shelby County Historical Society is lucky to have a core group that willingly volunteers hundreds and maybe even thousands of hours to make a difference in Shelby County. Without that core group, we would not be able to serve the Shelby County community at the level we do each year.

NOTE: We are pleased to announce that the Ohio Local Historical Alliance honored the Shelby County Historical Society with a "History Outreach Award" for our "Honoring Those Who Serve" events, held in September, 2010. These were the events surrounding the Field of Flags and the Traveling VietNam Wall. The award committee commented it was an ourstanding contribution to the field of local history in Ohio. Tilda accepted the award on the Society's behalf during their annual meeting held in Columbus in October, 2011. This award is truly a tribute to the dedication and hard work of our trustees, staff and hundreds of volunteers. NOTE: The society is planning to bring back the Traveling Vietnam Wall and the Field of Flags in September of 2015. Check our Programs & Exhibits page for more information. |
