COURT SQUARE MONUMENT DEDICATED 50 YEARS AGO

"The largest crowd ever to attend Memorial day services in Sidney heard Gov. Frank J. Lausche deliver a stirring address and saw members of the Gold Star Mothers unveil a new granite war memorial on the court square. The monument, which bears the names of those killed in World Wars I and II, was unveiled by Gold Star Mothers Mrs. Roy Rickey, Mrs. Iva Bunker, Mrs. A.C. Neer, and Mrs. Wilbur Williams. The first memorial wreath was placed at its base by Mrs. Kenneth Ferguson."

Sidney Daily News, May 31, 1950.
