Ross Aluminum

Ross Aluminum Foundries employs several hundred workers at plants at 815 Oak Avenue in Sidney and in Washington Township. William Ross, Sr. (pictured at right) started the operation as Ross Pattern & Foundry, a small, part time venture in his home on Bon Air Drive in 1931. In the first several years of operation, foundry patterns were the company’s principal product.

Today, the company specializes in manufacturing aluminum castings which have a broad range of applications, serving the transportation, automotive, electronics, naval and refrigeration industries throughout the United States. It is now a division of Eagle-Picher Industries, which is headquartered in Cincinnati.
