America 250 Ohio Open Doors Tour

As part of the national America 250 celebration, Shelby County invites residents and visitors to take part in the special Ohio Open Doors Tour, a self-guided journey across the state featuring local historic sites and landmarks. Many of these locations are rarely open to the public, making this event a once-in-a-lifetime chance to step inside local treasures.

Participants can use an America 250 Passport Book to collect stamps at each stop within Shelby County. Complete the passport and earn a commemorative giveaway (while supplies last)—a fun and interactive way to track your journey through Shelby County’s past!

The Ohio Open Doors Tour is made possible through partnerships with historical organizations and dedicated volunteers, working together to showcase Shelby County’s legacy during this national milestone and hosted state-wide by the Ohio History Connection.
